Game Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
This policy covers the games made by Death Walrus Studios (“we”, “us”), including test and beta builds. If a game has its own privacy policy, that policy also applies to that game, and where the two differ, the game’s own policy wins.
The short version
- No accounts, no ads, and no third-party analytics or tracking.
- Your progress and settings are saved on your device.
- We never sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it for advertising.
What our games keep on your device
Games save your progress and settings on your device so you can pick up where you left off. This stays on your device unless you back it up yourself. You can erase it by resetting progress in the game (where available) or by deleting the game.
What can leave your device
- Platform features you use. If a game uses a platform service such as Apple Game Center for achievements or leaderboards, that is handled by the platform under its own privacy policy. We don’t receive your platform account details.
- Online play. Online games may show the player name you choose to other players and may record anonymous gameplay stats to help balance the game. Each online game explains this on its own page (for example, HOTYB).
- Update checks. Some beta builds check our website for a newer version. The check downloads one small public file and sends nothing about you: no IDs and no save data.
- Sharing. If a game lets you share something, your device’s share sheet sends it where you choose. We don’t see or keep it.
- Web requests. Our websites and online games are hosted on Cloudflare, which processes basic request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the service.
Beta testing
When you test a game before release, the testing service shares some information with us so we can run the test:
- Apple TestFlight: the name and email address you were invited with, and, if you choose to send them, feedback, screenshots and crash reports along with basic device details such as model and system version. Apple handles this under the Apple Privacy Policy.
- Google Play testing: the email address on the tester list or group you joined, plus crash and performance reports that Google collects and shows to us. Google handles this under the Google Privacy Policy.
- Builds from our tester pages: only the update check described above.
- Feedback you email us: your email address and whatever you include, such as screenshots and your device model.
We use tester information only to run the test: sending invites and updates, fixing bugs, and replying to feedback. We remove testers from our lists when a test ends or when you ask.
Children
Our games are made for everyone and don’t ask for personal information. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has sent us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Your choices
You can ask us what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, including leaving a beta test. Email deathwalrusstudios@gmail.com and we’ll respond within 30 days.
How long we keep things
We keep emails and tester lists only as long as we need them to support you or run a test, then delete them.
Games covered
- Hold On To Your Butts (HOTYB): online details on our privacy page.
- Gulp! Soda Shop Simulator: see the Gulp! privacy policy.
- Future games and their test builds follow this policy unless their own policy says otherwise.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date above.
